Focus On: Nissan
This month, in our Focus On feature, we’re taking a look at the range of commercial vehicles offered by Nissan. Well-known in recent years for leading the charge on the electric vehicle market (pun absolutely intended), Nissan has even manufactured a 100% electric commercial van for those really looking to go green with their energy consumption.
This month we are going to be looking at the range of Smartvan racking currently available for Nissan van models, and what other Nissan owners have used to kit out their mobile workspace.
Which Nissan models can I rack out?
Bott Smartvan currently offer racking solutions for two Nissan van models; the NV200 and NV300. The NV300 racking system is available for both L1 and L2 wheelbases and with either a single or dual sliding side doors.
The NV200 is the smaller, more compact of the two vehicles and falls into the same ‘city van’ category as the likes of the Fiat Fiorino and the Ford Courier. It has a reasonable capacity, offering 4.2m³ of loadspace and offers a lower fuel economy of just over 57mpg. If you’re looking to do even more to improve your business’ environmental credentials, the NV200 also comes in an ‘E’ version which runs on 100% electric power, wiping out your fuel emissions completely.
Racking can be an important addition, particularly to small or compact sized vans, as it allows for the most efficient and practical use of the space inside the load area. Smartvan currently offers a racking solution for NV200 models manufactured from 2009 onwards with dual sliding side doors.
One of our most popular modules for the NV200 is Module 303, a module for the offside of the van. This is a basic module with four galvanised open shelves, up to 325mm deep. These shelves are ideal for storing parts, spares, tools or any other smaller items you need to keep secure and off the floor of the van.
To maximise the shelf space, you can opt to add our Recommended Accessory Kit for the module which includes anti-slip mats and moveable metal shelf dividers so that you can create compartments in the trough shelving, making it quick and simple to monitor and manage stock levels. You can purchase Module 303 with the Recommended Accessory kit for around £400 + VAT.
Smartvan also offer racking options for the NV300 Crew van; this includes both the L1 and L2 models. The load area in the crew van is still spacious enough to fit a full-sized racking module in it so you don’t have to choose between your work crew and your professional racking system. With Smartvan there’s room inside for both!
Top modules for the NV300
The Smartvan range for the NV300 Panel van offers customers a number of different racking options that can be customised to suit any trade or job. Here are our most popular modules purchased by NV300 owners:
Module 408 - This module on the nearside of the van includes three deep, half-width perfo storage panels. Perfo panels are incredibly versatile storage options and are ideal for holding accessories like our Tool Flex Clamps, Sealant or Aerosol Holders, Tiltboxes and Hose Holders. We even use perfo sheets to create the end panels for our side racks because we know they provide valuable extra space for hanging tools or safety kit, and it’s all easily accessible from the sliding side door!
Additionally, the module includes five 500w galvanised shelves of varying depths – up to 325mm – which are perfect for keeping extra tools or parts safe and secure in transit. As with the NV200, you can easily customise these shelves with adjustable shelf dividers, anti-slip mats or removable bottBoxes which can really help to make the most of your racking system.
Module 504 – Module 504 comes with a selection of removable storage boxes included so that parts you need to regularly transport inside to jobs can be quickly and easily moved from the van without additional time spent sorting them into carry cases, bags or your hand!
From our VarioSort service cases which are perfect for the tiniest of parts like washers and screws, to larger VarioSafe boxes which can be attached to the racks on runners and have a lid that fastens shut for ease of transport between the van and your site. These can be fixed at any point in the rack so you can truly customise the set-up so it works for you.
Module 504 also includes four additional galvanised shelves to store any extra parts or kit you need to get on with your job day-to-day.
This design is available through our handy online configurator and can be further customised to include the parts and accessories you need to make it work for your business. The set-up you see here costs around £1000 + VAT, including a 10% dynamic discount!
